A Lesson in Layering

Layering is crucial not only for the sweltering summer, but also if you want to use your summer pieces to transition into the fall.

A well-layered look can be powerful all together, but you want to make sure that each layer of your outfit is strong enough or comfortable enough to stand alone.

A destroyed band tee and a denim skirt is great with a pair of converse for a day of errands. Tying a mismatched flannel around the waist or unbuttoned on top quickly elevates it for a slightly breezier night. Topping it off with an open crochet cocoon cardigan, and switching chucks for ankle boots takes it from day to very casual night, and summer, to early fall.

This look does not depend on every piece to look complete, but rather uses great individual pieces to strengthen it as a whole, each of which you can mix up and wear a hundred different ways.
